OHIP Covered Services & Fees

In Ontario, most doctor visits and essential medical services are covered by OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan), ensuring that patients with valid OHIP health cards receive care at no cost. This includes services like routine checkups, diagnostic tests (such as X-rays and blood tests), and visits to family doctors, specialists, and walk-in clinics. OHIP also covers preventive care, like vaccinations and immunizations, as well as emergency medical services. However, some exceptions, such as cosmetic procedures and certain specialized services, may not be covered. Those without an OHIP card are required to pay a fee for doctor visits and services at Albion Islington Medical Centre.
